Bethel’s Byrd’s Books Hosts Annual Fall Book & Baking Event with Rose Levy Beranbaum, Author of The Cookie Bible

On Sunday, November 13th, 3:00pm to 5:00pm, join Bethel’s Byrd’s Books for its annual fall book and baking event, this year a fun afternoon with bestselling author Rose Levy Beranbaum as she talks and tastes the delight-full, iconic confection: the Cookie.

The event, highlighting Biranbaum’s new book, The Cookie Bible, features baked goods from any participant who would like to bake from the year’s book selection. In this way the author can discuss and sign her new book as well as share - with you - the results of her immaculately conceived recipes.

Registration is required and can be made by going to ByrdsBooks.com (No walks in, please.)

"She's obsessed,” says The Washington Post, where Biranbaum’s latest creations are often found in the Food Section. There's really no other way to describe cookbook author Rose Levy Beranbaum and her fixation with the minutiae of baking. If God is in the details, as the aphorism goes, then Beranbaum must have one foot in heaven. For Rose Levy Beranbaum, no detail escapes the pursuit of perfection. She's the Diva of Desserts."

Alice Hutchinson, owner of Byrd’s Books, explains: “Here’s how it goes. You purchase the book from us. If you choose to bake something from the book and bring it to the event, you will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to Byrd's Books, the author not only signs her book but discusses her recipes, and then we all get to bite into the array of cookies that have come from our neighborhoods kitchens.”

An active supporter of its community, Byrd’s Books will  have bakery boxes on hand for $10.00 for participants to take home their favorites so the funds raised May be donated to DAWS (Danbury Animal Welfare Society), Bethel’s local no-kill shelter and longtime recipient of Byrd’s Books’ enthusiastic support.

Rose Levy Biranbaum’s is the James Beard and IACP Award-winning author of twelve cookbooks, including Rose’s Baking Basics, The Baking Bible, and The Cake Bible. She's beloved by home bakers and professionals, and can be found online at realbakingwithrose.com.

“We love this event,” adds Hutchinson. “Of course you are welcome to attend without baking, but we will give the bakers the first round on the Cookie Swap. There has always been plenty for everyone. And we especially encourage young folks who are really interested in baking to join in the fun.”
