In his debut collection, Rick Magee explores the places that shaped him and the places that scarred him, while he also searches for the places that can restore him. The poems of Green Latitudes arise from specific landscapes and small moments, standing as tiny signposts to navigate a path to peace and acceptance.
Rick McGee grew up in California and started writing poetry at the age of 9. He continued to write through college at the University of California at Berkeley, where he got a degree in English. He later received an MA in English at Cal Poly, then moved to New York to complete his studies in English. After receiving his PhD, he began teaching at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, where he teaches literature, poetry, and food writing.
