I-84 Danbury Project seeks to improve access and operations on Interstate 84 between Exits 3 and 8 in Danbury

The CT DOT has set up a website for Danbury area residents to follow the I-84 project.

According to the CT DOT,  the I-84 Danbury Project is a Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) initiative to improve safety, increase capacity, and improve access and operations on Interstate 84 between Exits 3 and 8 in Danbury.

"There is significant congestion on I-84 in Danbury. Danbury is the western gateway into Connecticut and this stretch of I-84 carries substantial interstate traffic including a high percentage of commercial vehicles destined for markets in CT, the Boston metropolitan area and greater New England," they explain.

The I-84 Danbury Project was identified as a high priority as part of the Let’s GO CT! vision, the Governor’s $100 billion, 30-year transportation investment plan to address preservation needs and enhancements that would contribute to economic progress.
