Bethel Transfer Station Continues to Accept Yard Debris Free of Charge

Storm Recovery Update for Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 2:30pm

I'm sure many of you have notice that we seem to have quite a few Eversource crews working around town today, including many contractors from around the eastern US and Canada. Power was restored to about 2,200 Bethel homes and businesses in the past 24 hours, with less than 1,000 to go. Eversource has committed to having 99% of Bethel restored by this evening. We certainly wish them success.

Please do not interfere with any of the repair crews. Please do not stop to ask if they know when the power will be back on at a specific street or house number. They will not have that information and we do not want to slow their work. Thank you for your cooperation!

SHOWERS AND CHARGING STATION WILL BE AVAILABLE TOMORROW

Just in case Eversource runs into unexpected damage and is unable to meet their deadline, we will still have showers available at Bethel Middle School from 6am to 9am.

Charging stations will be available at town hall in the General Purpose room from 8am to 4:30pm.

TRANSFER STATION/RECYCLING CENTER

We are still accepting yard waste related to the storm free of charge at the transfer station. This is for residential drop off only and you must have a transfer station sticker or show your drivers license with a Bethel address. Hours for the rest of the week are as follows:

            Wednesday     Closed

Thursday         7am - 3pm (closed from noon to 1pm for lunch)

            Friday              7am - Noon

Saturday          7am - 3pm (closed from noon to 1pm for lunch)

Thank you all for being a great supportive community!
