Eversource Monitoring Tropical Storm Elsa, Potential to Impact East Coast this Week

Eversource is currently monitoring Tropical Storm Elsa that is now heading to Florida and is anticipated to have potential impact along the East Coast, with initial impacts expected in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

As a result, Eversource has secured commitments for approximately 100 non-mutual aid crews to be available for work starting Thursday, July 7 and Friday, July 8, in parallel with potential impact.

Long-range forecasts show the storm approaching the New England region late this week, with potential impacts in Connecticut. Eversource is currently planning for a Level 4 ERP.

  • 1,500-10,000 trouble spots on our system
  • Range of 290 – 500 Line Crews available at the onset of the storm.
As we continue to monitor this incoming weather, we will keep you updated and informed if an ERP is declared and if our Liaison Organization is activated.

As our Liaison Organization continues to prepare for this incoming event, please do not hesitate to reach out to your dedicated Blue-Sky Community Relations Specialist if you have any questions or concerns.

As a reminder it is important to ensure you have communicated your Single Point of Contact to work with your dedicated Eversource Community Liaison as well as your in-field contact to work with any Eversource Public Safety resources.
