Mental Health First Aid Training in Bethel

Bethel, Redding, and Ridgefield MDA 6 Public Health & Medical Emergency Preparedness and Response Teams and CERT Teams are sponsoring a Mental Health First Aid Training. Mental Health First Aid Instructor, Valerie English Cooper will help to facilitate the training session.

The Mental Health First Aid Training will take place at Stony Hill Fire Department on Wednesday, May 30 and Wednesday, June 6 from 5:30 to 9:30 pm. Sandwiches, chips, coffee, tea, and bottled water will be available.

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand, and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses.

"Our goal and the goal of the Federal Government expressed both through bipartisan funding of training nationwide and by the Mental Health Reform Act of 2016 is clear," says Mental Health First Aid Instructor, Valerie English Cooper, "Let's make Mental Health First Aid as common as CPR."

Space is limited to 30 participants. Register to attend by emailing bhdadmin@bethel-ct.gov
