Jean Enright Ledney, 76, of Bethel has died

Jean Enright Ledney, 76, of Bethel, formerly of Danbury, passed away on June 6, 2018. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Ledney.

Mrs. Ledney was born in Greenwich on August 18, 1941; a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Beattie) Enright. She was raised in Stamford, graduating from Stamford High School in 1959. She later lived in Ridgefield and Danbury before moving to Bethel.

Mrs. Ledney was a longtime area insurance agent working with the Benefit Planning Company of Danbury. She enjoyed painting on wood and calligraphy and attended St. Anthony Church of Danbury.

She is survived by her two sons: Paul Ledney and his wife, Meredith and Chad Ledney as well as four grandchildren: James, Matthew, Christopher and Justin Ledney. In addition, Mrs. Ledney is also survived by a brother, Andrew Enright and three sisters, Susan Kidd, Linda Guardino and Heather Harkins.

Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home; 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at the conclusion of the calling hour. Interment will be private and at the direction of the family.
