Bethel Chamber Invites Community to Rescheduling SummerFest Meeting Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 24th, at 9 a.m. Bethel Chamber of Commerce is having a meeting at the Chamber office to discuss and develop specific plans for rescheduling the 2019 SummerFest that we had to cancel due to the extreme weather warnings issued for July 20th.

"We’ll have coffee and tea and hopefully a lot of great ideas," says Brad Koltz, Chamber President & Executive Director.

Items up for discussion? Koltz says:

One idea that several folks have liked is to build on our upcoming OctoberFeast on October 5th and add a downtown festival earlier in the day - think Autumn Fest downtown (sidewalks sale, kids activities, music, food, family fun) from 11 am to 2 pm added to our already planned OctoberFeast in Stony Hill (Beer, Wine, Cider, etc., food, live music) from 6 to 9 pm.

Another idea is to host a sidewalk tag sale over one or two evenings in August.

Another idea is to have a series of sidewalk sales in the evenings in late August and September when the weather would likely be cooler.

So please come with your ideas and open minds and let's see if we can make something that will support our local businesses over the summer and add back some fun that was taken away by Mother Nature.

Ultimately the Board and I will come up with specific plans, but we need our members' ideas to make sure that this is the best outcome possible.

All Chamber Members and Bethel businesses (Chamber members and non-members) are welcome to attend tomorrow's meeting.
