What Does the Survey Say?? – Monday, January 27, 2020, 7 PM, BHS Cafe
In many of my letters, emails, and newsletters I have communicated that we are extremely concerned about some cultural shifts in our society that are impacting our children’s mental health. It is our hope that if we come together and work as a community, we can positively affect change. We want our children to be kind, happy, and empathetic individuals who care about themselves and others in the community. Additionally, we want our children to effectively handle stress and engage in civil discourse when they have disagreements with others in order to manage difficult social interactions/conflict (particularly online).
To that end, we would like to invite you to an interactive community forum.
The Bethel Public Schools, the Bethel Board of Education, and the Bethel Cares Coalition are co-sponsoring the forum on Monday, January 27th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Bethel High School Cafeteria to present some district data on the social-emotional well-being of our students, the Developmental Assets Survey, and trends we are seeing in our schools.
Most importantly, we will spend the majority of our time together discussing actions we can take as a larger community to ensure the social and emotional well-being of all of our children.
Please see the flyer for more details. While this forum may appear to be for parents of secondary school students, we highly recommend elementary school parents attend. We ask you to complete this RSVP FORM as a mechanism to RSVP for planning purposes.
