Bethel Community Update: Limit on Indoor Gatherings Increases to 10, Outdoor Gatherings is Now 25, Municipal Center Open

Indoor/Outdoor Gatherings
 
Over the weekend, Governor Lamont issued several new directives designed to ease restrictions on gatherings and certain events as part of the plan to reopen Connecticut's economy. The following is effective today:

The limit on indoor gatherings is now 10; the limit on outdoor gatherings is 25. Restriction: no contact sports or sports that require sharing of equipment (see text of executive order 7TT with details here: https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/Office-of-the-Governor/Executive-Orders/Lamont-Executive-Orders/Executive-Order-No-7TT.pdf?la=en

Spiritual Gatherings

Religious and spiritual gatherings is limited to 25% of indoor building capacity, or up to 100; up to 150 people outdoors.

Hair Salons

Face Masks

Use of face masks or cloth covering in public areas near other people is still mandatory.

OUTDOOR RECREATION

Most state parks and beaches are open or partially open. However, many have had to close their parking lots very early in the day due to heavy utilization. If you are planning a family outing, you should check the state website under "What's Open In CT". You may also subscribe to get real time up-to-the-minute updates on park openings or closing by "following" the state park system on Twitter: @CTStateParks.

CLIFFORD J. HURGIN MUNICIPAL CENTER REOPENS MONDAY, JUNE 1ST:

The municipal center will again be open to conduct in-person business beginning Monday morning. However, please note the following:

  • Appointments are required in advance. See the town website for department phone numbers here: https://www.bethel-ct.gov/content/117/default.aspx
  • You must enter and exit only through the doors nearest the General Purpose room, where you will be asked a few short health screening questions and will be given a guest pass.
  • You will be required to wear a mask during your visit to town hall.
