Town of Bethel COVID-19 Vaccine Update

Monday, February 8, 2021, COVID-19 VACCINE UPDATE

This past Saturday, February 6th, the second clinic was held for Bethel and Redding residents, where another 300 residents in the 75+ age group received vaccinations. Our staff will continue to contact preregistered residents in this group this week to schedule appointments for when the next shipment of vaccines arrive.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Bethel is being supplied the Moderna vaccine. Residents are monitored by medical personnel for at least 15 minutes after receiving the injection. To date there have been no adverse reactions or side effects with this vaccine. Health officials are urging everyone to get the vaccine as soon as they are eligible. If you have any concerns, please speak with your health care provider as soon as possible.

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR THE VACCINE

There are multiple ways you can register. We advise that you register with all of them and take advantage of the first appointment available.

  • TOWN OF BETHEL: Residents aged 65+ can pre-register online here
  • If you have relatives or neighbors who do not use a computer, please let them know they can register through the Bethel Vaccine Infoline at 203-794-8523.
  • Seniors can also call the Bethel Senior Center at 203-794-8593 for help registering. Please note, the 75+ age groups will continue to be the first priority, but we will move immediately to the 65+ group as quickly as supplies allow.

STATE OF CONNECTICUT: Vaccines are also available through several independent clinics and health providers throughout the state. A list of providers in our area can be seen on the state website by clicking here

At this time, the state portal is accepting registrations only for the 75+ age group.

We expect new information about supplies and the next priority groups very soon and will update our community immediately when notified.
