Bethel COVID Vaccination Clinic to Accept Registration for Ages 18+ Beginning Tomorrow

As announced last week, the State of Connecticut will allow appointment registrations for the COVID vaccine to ages 16 and higher, effective tomorrow, Thursday, April 1st.

However, please be advised that our own local vaccine clinic, operated by the Town of Bethel, can only accept registration requests for ages 18 and higher. We are not able to accept 16- and 17-year olds at this time.

EXPLANATION:  At present, of the three vaccines currently approved in the United States, only the Pfizer vaccine has been cleared for use for those under 18. Bethel is being supplied with the Moderna vaccine, which may be administered to people 18 and older.

Parents of 16 and 17 year olds are advised to seek the Pfizer vaccine through the many clinics, hospitals and pharmacies throughout Connecticut that carry it. These outlets can be located using the "vaccine finder" link on the state website by clicking here:  https://covidvaccinefinder.ct.gov/

PLEASE STAY IN TOUCH

If you registered on the Town of Bethel COVID vaccination registration list and received your vaccination elsewhere, please call our Infoline via phone (203-794-8523) or email infoline@bethel-ct.gov to let the schedulers know you have already been vaccinated.   Schedulers call approximately 400 to 500 people per week to make appointments.   A current appointment list of people waiting for a call helps provide rapid and efficient scheduling. By calling our volunteers to let us know you've already received your shot, you can help us reach more people quickly.

Thank you!
