Bethel’s Byrd’s Books Announces 7th Annual Summer Bookmark Contest Winners

We had a great response to our 7th annual Bookmark Contest this year!,” says Alice Hutchinson, the congenial proprietor of Bethel’s Byrd’s Books, whose projects always manage to engage and excite her community (think Where’s Waldo?, coming in July). “There were so many in the 6th-8th grade category we awarded two winning prizes. In the Honorable Mentions, we awarded two in the high school category. The winning creations will be displayed in our bookstore and copies will be given out to purchasers all summer long. We love commingling books, art, and community.

Every year during the month of May, Bethel’s Byrd’s Books hosts a Summer Bookmark Contest in which kids and adults are invited to design a bookmark based on a book they love. Guest judges from Bethel Arts choose a winner and runner up in five categories/age groups. The five winners get a $25 gift certificate to Byrd’s Books and 25 of their bookmarks to give away. Honorable mentions get a $10 gift certificate.
