Meet Ridgefield resident Denise Schimenti
I first participated in the Ann's Place Fashion Show in 2019 and it was a truly amazing experience. I had completed my last round of chemotherapy treatment for Stage 2 breast cancer just 4 weeks before I took to the stage. I had come out the other side of my cancer fight - I was tired and bruised, but I was not defeated - and this show was a perfect way to celebrate my victory.
That evening I was also lucky enough to walk the show with my two daughters, just 7 and 9 at the time. As a family we had been through so much that year, and it was so beautiful for 2 of my children to be a part of this night (while my 5 year old watched from the audience). The fashion show was truly such a special experience - a beautiful way to move on from my diagnosis and my treatments into the next stage of recovery. That night I felt so lucky to participate, to be celebrated, and to be a survivor.
I also walk in support of Ann's Place, an organization which provides help and hope to those living with cancer and their families. Ann's Place relies on the generosity of donors like you to deliver wellness programs, comfort, and support at absolutely no cost.
Please join me in supporting this year's fashion show and this amazing organization by making a donation through my page to Ann's Place.
Thank you for your continued love and prayers. And thank you for your support of Ann's Place.
And local friends, we'd love to see you at the show!
