Georgetown Day Street Fair Celebrates 20 Years on June 11: Chili Cook-off, Artisans, Food Vendors, and More!

Georgetown Day is on Sunday, June 11th, from noon to 5:30 p.m. — it's the twentieth anniversary! This street fair takes place on Main Street in Georgetown/Redding and is free to the community.

The Chili Cook-off is returning this year with 15 chefs vying for the title of top chili cook. The day will feature live music from local bands The Gallows Hill Three, the Wilton Community Steel Band, Southern Fried, and One Bad Oyster. Nod Hill Brewery is sponsoring a special stage with Massive Diva, Hitch & the Giddyup, and the Nod Hill Bluegrass Jam playing.

Craft and family-friendly vendors will line Main Street and offer handmade jewelry, gifts, artwork, and other products. Kids can enjoy the Scavenger Hunt, and fire department and Ladies Auxiliary activities like birdhouse decoration. The Playway will feature its waterway with a build-a-boat craft station and a sand table, as well as several touch-a-trucks, to keep little ones entertained.

Multiple local food vendors will be throughout the event along with seating throughout the event, including the Main Street restaurants, The Barn Door, and Grumpy Dumpling Co, and more. The Lions Club will be serving beer at the Georgetown Day Beer Tent with local ales on tap. The Georgetown Farmers Market’s first day of the season will be on Georgetown Day, at their usual Old Mill Road location.

Georgetown Village Restoration, Inc. (GVR), a nonprofit member organization dedicated to maintaining and improving Georgetown, organizes and hosts the event. The Georgetown Lions Club, Georgetown Community Association, and the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department are also hosting.

Georgetown Day is sponsored in part by Fairfield County Bank, the longest and leading sponsor of the event. Other sponsors include The Granite Church, Nazzaro Inc., Wells Fargo Advisors, Servco, Pilato Brothers, Meadow Ridge, Knapp Tree, and the Ridgefield Thrift Store.
