Bethel's Byrds Books hosts series of weekly meditation classes

Isn't it time for you to Take Time?

Beginning Friday, January 26th, you can unwind from your week by joining a series of meditation classes hosted by Byrd's Books, located at 126 Greenwood Avenue, across from P.T. Barnum Square. Led by Irene Mardal, the original owner of Take Time Relaxation Center, five one-hour classes, running through Friday, February 23rd will teach participants simple techniques for reducing stress, using both stationary and moving meditation (qigong). The classes are scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm.

In her spirited "classroom," Irene Mardal combines the sciences of anatomy and physiology with an understanding of mindfulness and its importance. Irene has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1994 and is certified in lymphatic drainage and complete decongestive therapy. A Reiki Master, she is also a post-secondary instructor of Tai Chi Easy and Infant Massage. Her experiences in therapeutic care (from massage, labor, infants, hospital and hospice, to sports) have informed her approach to stress and her unique look at life.

Each class will cost $15.00 per person or all five for $60. You are welcome to attend classes individually or reserve all five. (Byrd's Books reserves the right to limit class size due to space). To reserve a spot, go to http://conta.cc/2rfzQA3

Byrd's Books also offers many other things to do to unwind, such as Writers' Workshops, Book Groups, and children's Story Time. Book Time now at Bethel's popular gathering place, and as author Amit Ray encourages, "conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath." For more information, go to byrdsbooks.com or call (203) 730 BYRD (2973).
