YOU'RE IT The Toy Room!
Three questions with Kimberly Ramsey, owner of The Toy Room.
Why did you start your business?
I started the business because I always wanted to own my own store & I love working in retail - there's so much variety in retail, you never know what is going to happen next. I could never sit in an office and do the same thing day after day. I hate the paperwork end of it but the interaction I get with the customers, toy companies & my reps, the buying, visual displays, customer service, problem-solving - I love all of that! Toys were a great fit for me because it's such a fun and upbeat industry & I get to embrace my inner child.
Bestselling product/service?
My best selling category in the store is always Arts & Crafts...but my single best selling item is probably Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty - I've carried them for probably 10 years now and they have always been a steady seller, these past 2 years we've really experienced a huge boom in sales.
