Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Silver Touch!

Three questions with Lorraine Schrameck owner of Silver Touch.

Why did you start your business?

I opened Silver Touch in Dolan Plaza in 1999, after trying it out as a home business. I developed many loyal customers, and of course, once the store opened, that number just kept growing.

Best selling products/services?

Our most popular items are trendy sterling silver jewelry designs, as well as the more classic pieces. Customers also love our selection of gemstone and freshwater pearl jewelry.

Do you use any local businesses to support your business? Can you name them?

I enjoy working with other local businesses, especially for planning events and advertising together. Byrd’s Books, English Apothecary, The Gift Cottage and The Toy Room have done several successful programs on a group basis.

Silver Touch is located at 211 Greenwood Ave. Visit them online here.
