Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT Sunflower Studio LLC!
Three questions with Adrianne Roberts, owner of Sunflower Studio.
A Unique Approach to Learning
Why did you start your business?
I had been teaching throughout the area and tutoring out of my home for several years; bringing educational classes to children of all ages. After seeing how well students were retaining information, I found that hands-on, project-based learning was the key to success. Sunflower Studio was launched to inspire others to learn creatively and embrace each unique learning challenge with confidence! This approach has led to cheerful students and satisfied parents!
Finish this sentence in regard to your business. “I wish I could…”
I wish I could provide all of my classes for free! I am in the process of launching the Multiverse Expo (a family-friendly comic-con type event) again in Bethel this fall. This time, the proceeds will benefit local students to attend classes in our studio for low to no cost. We are always actively looking for sponsors, donors, and grants to help defray the cost to families.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
