Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Grey’s Martial Arts!

Three questions with Master Mark Hoyt, owner and head instructor at Grey’s Martial Arts.

Why did you start your business?

I started my business because of my love for martial arts and specifically teaching martial arts. I started training over 25 years ago and instantly knew that this was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. And, being able to open my own school in the town where I grew up, was even better!

Best selling product/service?

Our best selling service is all of our programs! We are pretty evenly split on the numbers of adults who train in kickboxing and kids who train in our kid's programs. Since we are still a relatively new school, our class sizes are the perfect size to get the right amount of attention to help everyone through their training.

Finish this sentence “I wish I could..”

I wish I could teach more people! Martial arts (and teaching martial arts) has been a passion of mine for a long time and I love being able to share it with others!

Grey’s Martial Arts is located at 78 Stony Hill Road. Visit them online here.
