Gymnastics is a year-round, eat, sleep, breathe, feel it in your blood type of sport! With the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the lives of gymnasts around the world have come to a startling halt. Normally training anywhere from a few hours per week up to 6 hours per day in attempts to reach their best, a college scholarship, or the Olympic Games, gymnasts have structured regimens from a young age which have now completely stopped. This stoppage can not only be detrimental physically to their progress/careers but most importantly emotionally the change can be a lot to handle.
In an attempt to give gymnasts a light of hope & a structured training, Ashley Anton, co-owner of Kratos Gymnastics with the help of professional hand balancer/Circus Artist and co-owner of Shine Alternative Fitness, Las Vegas, Dima Shine & Olympic Mental toughness coach, Alison Arnold, has created an online, virtual training camp for gymnasts of all levels. Running three days per week, camp brings the comfort of a schedule back into the lives of gymnasts while keeping them in shape both physically and mentally!
The first round of camp ran successfully from March 30th - April 24th with a second-round getting ready to begin on April 27th. Coach Ashley provided training in flexibility, body control, strength, and dance while Dima focused on handstands, and Doc. Ali on mental tools.
Gymnasts gave raving reviews saying they feel stronger, more flexible, attained a better handstand, are more confident in their dance, and feel ready to return to the gym with confidence using the mental tools they learned from Olympic mental toughness coach, Doc Ali.
The camp is open to gymnasts internationally and more information, as well as registration, can be found at www.kratosgym.com.
