Effective December 21, Bethel Public Library to Temporarily Suspend In Person Services

Due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases around the state and the expected increase over the holidays, the Bethel Public Library will be returning to curbside services only.

Effective Monday, December 21, BPL will offer curbside pickup only, and be closed for browsing/in person services. Please call 203-794-8756 to arrange a curbside pickup appointment. Our Bag of Books program will still be available for curbside service.

If you need to print and/or fax, please call 203-794-8756 or email adult@bethellibrary.org to make arrangements.

In-person computer appointments will be suspended until after January 6th. During this time staff will be reconfiguring the computer lab to better ensure social distancing and staff will be training on new software and services to better support community needs during the pandemic.

While the Library is closed we encourage everyone to utilize our outstanding digital resources, including The New York Times, Ancestry.com, Value Line, and more. Enjoy access to e-books, e-audiobook, magazines, comics and movies through our website bethellibrary.org, and reference staff will still be available to assist all patrons during this time by phone or website chat.

The book drop will remain open and we will continue to waive fines until January 6th.

Over the past nine months we have maintained a flexible approach to service delivery while always keeping the safety of our patrons and staff as our top priority and the Library will continue to monitor the pandemic and make changes to its operations when warranted. We thank you for your patience during these difficult times.
