Bethel Public Library Announces Reopening, Return to Regular Hours Beginning Monday!

The Bethel Public Library is pleased to announce the reopening of the library building's first and second floor on May 10, 2021, along with returning to our regular hours:

Monday: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Tuesday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wednesday: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Thursday: 10 a.m.  - 8 p.m.
Friday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

On May 7, 2021, the library will be closed in order to prepare the building for reopening. There will be no phone or in-person services available, as staff will be relocating computers, moving furniture, and preparing spaces for public use. Our virtual services will continue to be available.

All collections will be available for browsing, computers will be returned to the second floor, and our business center will be reopened for faxing, scanning, and copying. Some tables and chairs will also be available for use.

While we are working towards a return to normal operating procedures, some services will take long to return.  We are working on plans for in-person programming and use of meeting rooms, but those will return at a later date. At this time magazines and newspapers will not be available for inhouse use.

While we continue to expand our services, the safety of our visitors and staff are our priority. Please remember:
  • Everyone in the building, including children ages two and up, are required to wear a mask.
  • We are following state guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting, as well as social distancing.
  • All library materials must be returned in the exterior book drop and quarantined for 48 hours before being handled by the staff or public.

After May 10, we will continue to offer Curbside Pickup, Bag of Books program, Virtual Bookshelves for browsing, and online chat, as well as all the E-Library services that became available during COVID-19.

The library will look different when you return. We look forward to welcoming you back you as we navigate this "new normal" together. We thank you for your support and patience during these difficult times.

If you have questions or assistance you can call (203)794-8756, email us at adult@bethellibrary.org, or send a chat request through the library website during library hours.
