Why Small Businesses Matter in Bethel: Lala's Charcu

Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Lala's Charcu!

Four questions with Melissa Marr, founder of Lala's Charcu.

Why did you start your business?

I started my business because I absolutely love making charcuterie and delighting people with my creations!

What is your best-selling product/service?

The best selling products are the medium round teak wood boards and the medium-sized charcuterie.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

Caraluzzi's is my go-to market for most of my ingredients - I have been shopping there for 27 years and rarely go anywhere else!

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

If I could spend 100% of my time on making charcuterie, I would love to open a small take-out store to sell them, along with some family favorite dishes and desserts that my husband and I love to cook.

Melissa would like to nominate Elegant Nails to be featured next - "They are very talented and wonderful people!"
