Bethel’s Byrd’s Books announces June guests on Write America

The weekly virtual author series, Write America, hosted by Bethel’s Byrd’s Books, continues to feature award-winning, nationally-renowned authors, as well as new and emerging writers, in readings and conversations about how books and art might bridge the deep divisions in our nation.

The prestigious series, now in its 2nd year, is conceived and curated by author Roger Rosenblatt with online host, Bethel’s Byrd’s Books’ owner Alice Hutchinson. Streamed on Byrd's Books' Crowdcast channel on Mondays, 7:00pm to 8:00pm, The Write America events are all free to attend.

“From the start, noted Roger Rosenblatt in Stony Brook University News,“ we had several hundred [viewers] per episode from every state practically and in 23 other countries. So the size of it absolutely has surprised me, and it showed that there is an appetite for these readings and for what the readings meant, in terms of the commonalities among people, our audience and our writers.”

Write America’s guest roster in June includes:

Monday, June 6     Episode 63 with Susan Cole, Wyatt Prunty, and Alia Trabucco Zerán
Monday, June 13   Episode 64 with Mayor Jackson and Joyce Maynar
Monday, June 20   Episode 65 with Gail Mazur, Lloyd Schwartz, and Nicole Terez Dutton
Monday, June 27.  Episode 66 with Rachel Pastan, Alison Fairbrother, and Tyehimba Jess

Registration is required for each event and can be made by clicking here.

There, you will also find author bios and, whenever possible, signed copies of the writers’ books to purchase in advance. The calendar is likely to adjust a bit, with many events added daily, so if you haven’t already, you are urged to sign up for Byrd’s Books’ online newsletter to stay tuned.
