Bethel Police Accepting Applications for Entry Level Police Officer

The Bethel Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officer.  Non-Certified (Entry Level) applicants are encouraged to apply.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 21 years of age as of August 1, 2018
  • US Citizen
  • High School Graduate/ G.E.D.
  • Valid US driver’s license
  • NO Felony or Class A or B Misdemeanor Convictions. 
  • Must have CHIP Card (40th percentile)
  • Must NOT have tattoos on the face, head, hand, mouth or neck. Additional exposed tattoos subject to department policy review.
  •             Upon appointment  - No new tattoos which are exposed while the employee is in uniform of the day.

SALARY 

Anticipated Salary Range: starting  $53,280-$78,363 *includes eductional incentive

BENEFITS

25 year Pension (60%; 70% @ 30 Yrs), 457 Deferred Comp Program, Education Incentive, Tuition Assistance and Holiday Pay etc

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

  • CPCA Written Exam (77% or Higher)
  • Must have CHIP Card (40th percentile) 
  • Possible Additional Physical Agility Exam to be held by the Bethel Police Department
