Bethel Police Report Stolen Vehicles, Urge Residents to Lock Cars, Remove Key

Bethel Police Department reports that today, October 9 at approximately 7:30 am, the Department began receiving calls about vehicles being stolen from residences and vehicles that had been rummaged through with items stolen. All of the vehicles stolen had been left unlocked with the keys in them.

Over the course of the next hour, police say that a total of four vehicles were reported stolen in the area of Chestnut Ridge Road and numerous other vehicles were rummaged through.

At about the same time, police say that another vehicle was stolen from the Dodgingtown Market in Newtown. 

Bethel Police is advising residents not to leave your car unlocked, or running. Be sure to remove the key.
