Bethel Police arrest Target shoplifter, find her in possession of crack pipes

Bethel Police report that on February 9, 2022 at 12:17 P.M., officers were dispatched to Target, at 7 Stony Hill Road, for a report of two shoplifters leaving the store without paying. Based on one of the suspect descriptions provided by Target, officers located the female suspect, identified as Carrie Walencik (Age: 43) of New Milford, at the bottom of the exit ramp of the store pushing a Target shopping cart full of stolen items.

Police say that the total value of the stolen goods was $1,034.00. "Walencik was also found to be in possession of two glass crack pipes."

According to police, Walencik was placed under arrest, charged with Larceny 4th degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and held for arraignment on February 10, 2022 at 09:00 AM, at Danbury Superior Court. According to the State of Connecticut Judicial website, Walencik has pending court cases for eight ( other arrests for various larceny charges. Attempts are being made to identify the second suspect involved.
