Bethel police report that on January 31, 2023 at approximately 11:49pm, the department received a call regarding yelling coming from the area of Reservoir Street.
Upon arrival, police say that officers located a male and female inside a residence on Reservoir Street who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
According to the police report, officers began treating the parties. They say, however, that the female was ultimately pronounced dead at the residence. The male was taken to Danbury Hospital where he was also pronounced dead, police say.
The deceased have since been identified as Lester and Tracy Jones reports NBC Connecticut; the Chief Medical Examiner said Traci was killed by a gunshot wound to the head and Lester died by suicide. "Traci's death was ruled a homicide," the report says.
"The Bethel Police Department Detective Bureau is actively investigating the incident and there is no threat to the community," according to the police report.
