Shrek Swamps Brewster High School Stage

Everyone’s favorite green Ogre swamps the Brewster High School stage in SHREK THE MUSICAL beginning March 19th.  Stephanie Rubino directs this magical cast including Andrew Gordon as Shrek, Sydney Gershon as Princess Fiona, Brandon Salamone as Lord Farquaad and Janet Bergquist as Donkey. Featuring a terrific score, big laughs, great dancing and breathtaking costumes and scenery, SHREK THE MUSICAL is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and irreverent fun for everyone! 

SHREK THE MUSICAL is based on the story and characters from William Steig’s book Shrek!, as well as the DreamWorks Animation film Shrek, the first chapter of the Shrek movie series.  SHREK THE MUSICAL tells the story of a swamp-dwelling ogre who goes on a life-changing adventure to reclaim the deed to his land. Joined by a wise-cracking donkey, this unlikely hero fights a fearsome dragon, rescues a feisty princess and learns that real friendship and true love aren’t only found in fairy tales.

Music director, Lauren Ellis will conduct the orchestra which is comprised predominately of students. Rounding out the production team are Vocal Director, Patricia Taylor, Choreographer, Nicole Aravena, Set Designer Jan Anthony and Lighting and Sound Designer, Joe Beahm.

SHREK THE MUSICAL  is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).  Book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. Music by Jeanine Tesori.

Shrek is a big, bright beautiful show that will thrill and delight audiences of all ages!  The five performances will be held at the Brewster High School Performing Arts Center 50 Foggintown Rd, Brewster, NY. Show times are March 19, 20, 21 at 7:30 PM with special matinees on March 21 and 22 at 2:00 PM.
