The Brewster Central School District has called a special meeting for tonight at 6:30 to discuss and examine their options regarding recent facebook post by a Board of Trustees Member that has resulted in an uproar amongst the community. Trustee Krista Marie Berardi posted comments that many felt were insensitive and racist regarding the recent protest in our area regarding George Floyd’s death.
In an email sent out to district parents and the community the District wrote:
You may have been made aware about a trustee’s comments regarding recent events appearing on social media. The Board of Education will be convening a Board meeting, with an anticipated executive session, this evening, to discuss these matters and to determine what the proper course of action might be.
