Brewster High School is thrilled to present their spring musical production, "Hello, Dolly!” “Hello Dolly!” is one of those American Theatre classics that is designed for sheer audience enjoyment. Based on the play “The Matchmaker” by Thornton Wilder, with a Tony Award winning book by Michael Stewart and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, “Hello Dolly!” tells the story of a charming widow, Dolly Levi. “What do you do for a living, Mrs. Levi?” asks Ambrose Kemper in the first scene of this most delightful of musical comedies. “Some people paint, some sew…I meddle,” replies Dolly. “Hello, Dolly!” is full of memorable songs including “Put On Your Sunday Clothes,” “It Takes a Woman,” “Before the Parade Passes By,” “Hello, Dolly!” and “It Only Takes a Moment.” And we are off on a whirlwind race around New York at the turn of the twentieth century, as we follow the adventures of America’s most beloved matchmaker!
“Hello Dolly!” is under the direction of Stephanie Rubino with Music Direction by George Viglucci, Vocal Direction by Susan Yanarella and Choreography by Nicole Aravena.
Rory Wakeford plays Dolly Gallagher Levi with Dominic Triano as Horace Vandergelder. Sydney Gershon as Irene Molloy; Maxwell Likens as Cornelius Hackle; Ryan Hecht as Barnaby Tucker and Sarah Mitchell as Minnie Fay. Rounding out the leading actors are William Curley as Ambrose Kemper, Kristyn Vario as Ermengarde, and Jacqueline Carey as Ernestina Money.
Performances are April 7th & 8th at 7:30pm and April 9th at 2pm & 7:30pm at Brewster High School. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.
