Southeast Power Outage

The New York State Electric and Gas Company (NYSEG ) reported today at about noon that approximately 1100 customers in the Route 22 and Milltown Road area of Southeast were without power. Several Facebook followers posted that traffic lights in town were not operating properly or were out completely and to use extreme caution while traveling through town as did the Putnam County Traffic Safety board's Facebook page, however as of 1:30 p.m. all the traffic lights in town appear to be operating correctly. At 1:35 p.m. NYSEG issued an alert that power had been restored to the affected area. If you live in the affected area or are a NYSEG customer without power at this time they ask you to call 1-800-572-1131 to report the outage. NYSEG was unable to provide any further information as to the cause of the outage but did issue an the alert that power has been restored at the time this article was published.
