FREE Outdoor Music Wednesday Nights in Brewster!

The FREE Third Annual Brewster Summer Music Series (BSMS) presented by the Cultural Arts Coalition continues Wednesday, June 28th following the successful relaunch last week at the Southeast Veterans Park Gazebo at Electrozone Field on June 21, 2023.

The outdoor music begins Wednesday night at 6:30 PM with Brewster resident George Mallas behind the keys to warming up the audience for the former Brewster HS graduates that comprise ⅓ of Sophie. “This week we are keeping it local with our line up. George Mallas is an original singer/songwriter and podcast host who is an absolute crowd pleaser,” event co-chair Jacque Roche remarked. When asked about the headlining act, co-chair, Katy Faivre continued, “we are expecting a good crowd this coming week, and are looking forward to the return of local popular band, ⅓ of Sophie who keeps it fun with their sweet funky, spacy arrangements.”

The series continues with successive performances (weather permitting) every Wednesday evening throughout July 26th as follows: July 5, Jay Prince & Friends will celebrate the July 4th holiday, supported by an open gallery reading by Francine Tesler, psychic medium at 6:30 PM. BSMS is going Country on July 12th with an opening acoustic set by Brewster singer/songwriter Bob Stanhope, followed by 90 minutes of original Americana, Country, Western with Fairfield County's own, North County Band at 7 PM. The Santa Barbara Jazz Quartet will be swinging at the gazebo on July 19th following an acoustic opening set by original singer/songwriter Ivan Polanco. Eric Rabasca, an original singer/songwriter and founding member of Light Warriors will open the final night of the series. The Song Island Band will entertain with acoustic rock harmonies covering everyone’s nostalgic favorites.

Located in Brewster, at the corner of Railroad and Morningthorpe Avenues, the Veterans Park is easily accessed via multiple transportation options including a scenic drive along the East Branch Reservoir along Route 22 North or a 10-minute drive from exit 10 along Route 684. Concert attendees may also find convenience traveling via MTA Metro-North’s Hudson Line to the Brewster Station, as the gazebo is a 5-minute walk away. Hartransit runs a shuttle bus service for those traveling between Danbury, CT and the Brewster Train Station.
