It’s Not Too Late to Participate in the Support-A-Walk

It’s not too late to participate in Support Connection’s Annual Support-A-Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer, which will take place Sunday, October 1.

The Support-A-Walk was founded twenty-eight years ago by local residents as a way to focus attention on breast and ovarian cancer and to raise funds for Support Connection’s free, year-round cancer support programs and services for those living with these diseases. Since the organization was founded in 1996, many thousands of women and their families - locally and across the country - have received help from Support Connection.

You can join Support Connection at FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights, NY or “walk” and raise funds wherever you are. For those interested in walking at FDR State Park, a schedule of events and more information can be found here: https://supportconnection.org/support-a-walk/  If you cannot join at the Park, Support Connection invites people to walk in their own town or city, neighborhood, or even on a treadmill at home.

It’s easy to participate. Walk on your own, or with family, friends, neighbors. Up until the day of the Walk, there’s time to set up a personal online fundraising page to seek donations. Pages can be created at bit.ly/2023Support-A-Walk and Support Connection will accept donations to the Walk through the end of the year.

You can also donate directly to the Walk by check, cash, or online: https://supportconnection.org/donate-and-fundraise/ Donations are welcome even after the Walk.

The Support-A-Walk is Support Connection’s most important annual fundraiser. 80¢ of every dollar donated directly funds their free breast, ovarian, and gynecological cancer support services. Support Connection does not receive funds from any national cancer organizations including Relay for Life, Susan G. Komen, or Making Strides.
