Winner of 2016 Congressional Art Competition

Representative Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) announced the grand prize winner of the 2016 Congressional Art Competition, winners for each medium, and a Facebook Fan Favorite at a reception for students and their families on Friday evening. In March, Rep. Maloney invited high school students in the 18th Congressional District to submit an entry to the annual art contest, and a panel of local artists judged the entries. This year, more than 20 students participated in the art competition, and their work is currently on display at his Newburgh Office. You can view the entries on Facebook here.

“Congratulations to Polina Chizhov for winning this year’s Congressional Art Competition,” said Maloney. “Every year, I am thrilled to see the artistic talent of our young people right here in the Hudson Valley, and I am proud that I will be able to share some of our region’s best artwork with my colleagues in Washington.”
