The following update was received at 9:13 am:
As you are aware, it was necessary to evacuate WMS and CVS students to other schools in the district this morning. Since power will not be restored to Wells Middle School or CV Starr today, it is necessary for us to dismiss Wells Middle School and CV Starr students to go home. Again, only WMS and CVS students will be dismissed to go home. BHS and JFK students will remain in session.
Our Transportation Department is making the necessary arrangements for students to be delivered home via their regular bus stop. We are asking that parents stay away from BHS and JFK in order to allow us to concentrate our resources on getting students on their busses to go home. There will be no parent pick-up allowed for CVS and WMS students. No traffic will be allowed on school property until busses are dismissed.
WMS and CVS students will be dismissed at 9:30. You can expect them to be dropped off at their normal stop. If their typical stop is not their home, WMS students will remain at BHS and CVS students will be held at JFK.
