Farewell Message from Mark Buzzetto of Brewster Flower Garden

After 30 years of owning Brewster Flower Garden, Mark Buzzetto is returning to Four Seasons Flowers in Mount Kisco where he developed his skills as a florist and is now their new owner. This was a difficult decision for Mark but he leaves Brewster Flower Garden in the capable hands of a new owner, Mary Jones.

We wish Mark and his family continued success and much happiness in their new venture. Feel free to leave Mark a farewell message in the comment section below.

Mark would like to share the following message to our community:

Back in 1988 I decided to take a leap of faith and purchase a small shop in a town where I knew no one and had little if any experience on how to run a business at all.

That venture was my start at the Brewster Flower Garden.

The road to Brewster was not direct.

During high school I started working afternoons delivering flowers at the Four Seasons Flowers in Mount Kisco.  My best friend's uncle, Frank Yozzo, the owner of the Four Seasons, was a great boss, father figure, and genuinely nice guy to work with.  During those years, I was able to learn most of the skills that unbeknownst to me would be the foundation for my future.

Well, the years passed and I continued to work with Frank as my mentor.  I developed a true passion for the floral business as well as a natural ability to design arrangements under Frank's supervision and training.  As I continued to learn  and perfect my craft I soon became interested in the prospect of taking my skills to the next level.  With ten years of experience under my belt I decided it was time to open a store of my own.

Thirty years ago was the start of not only my first business venture at the Brewster Flower Garden, but also a journey involving many rewarding encounters with the endless customers, associates, and fellow vendors who over the years have become some of my most cherished friends.

So as I embark on my new venture here at the Four Seasons, I want to take this opportunity as I come full circle back where I started as a teenager in the late 70's to extend a warm and heartfelt thank-you to all the amazing people who have come into my life and supported me in Brewster all these years.  While retirement is not yet on my horizon, when Frank announced his retirement, the opportunity to buy the store where it all started was impossible to resist.  And so I leave Brewster and the Brewster Flower Garden in the very capable hands of new owner Mary Jones who also owns and operates Ridgefield. Rodier, and Stewart Flowers.

Again, I am forever grateful that I have been able to serve you through the years.
