Putnam Alzheimer's Walk moves to new location

The Alzheimer's Association is pleased to announce that its annual "Walk to End Alzheimer's" will be held Sunday, October 15, at Putnam County Veterans' Memorial Park, a new venue that showcases its breathtaking natural scenery and modern facilities. The event is organized by a very seasoned committee under the guidance of Venesa Marcellin, manager for the Putnam and Dutchess/Ulster walks.

Starting with registration at 9 A.M., participants can arrive at the park for activities including face painting, food and drinks, live music and more. The opening ceremony will kick off at 10 A.M. with a warm welcome to participants and sponsors followed by the walk. Attendees can visit the "Promise Garden" honoring those living with Alzheimer's and their caregivers. Returning walkers will be greeted by entertainment.

Putnam Ridge is a proud supporter of the Alzheimer's Association. Attendees are welcome to stop by for information about Putnam Ridge's Secure Memory Care services or Medical Model Adult Day Care Program.  Visit putnamridge.com to learn more.

Walkers of all ages and new teams are welcome. However, no pets other than service animals are permitted. The Alzheimer's Association thanks the many volunteers and supporters who have made this walk possible.  Pictured here are 2017 Walk Committee members Sue Bunce, Deb Colquhoun, Cecile Walsh, Cathy Cassidy, Pat Colavito, Dinesh Cherupalia, Venesa Marcellin, Denise Kuhbier, and Bonnie Leavy.
