Pet of the Week: Mama Lucy Rescued from Hurricane Harvey

Anyone looking for their next best friend? Our Lucy that we rescued from hurricane Harvey is looking for her family! She is such a sweety- she loves cats and everyone she meets. Lucy has had a hard life and would do well with a calm household so she can trust that she is safe.

Lucy is pretty mellow and will just lay by your side for belly rubs and love. She was a fantastic mama to her pups but her pups no longer need her. It's time for Lucy to find her own forever home and to be loved like she deserves. She is heart worm positive and will start pill treatment soon that is covered by the rescue. We would love for Lucy to find her person and learn that good people do exist! Lucy weighs about 35 pounds, she is gaining weight so she should be a healthy 45-55 pounds soon. Amy Henken is currently fostering Lucy. She stated that Lucy "came off of the truck from Texas- broken and battered and starving, malnourished, she had mastitis and was still nursing her pups. She was followed by 6 fat little healthy pups, because she is a great mamma and took care of them first. She is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met, she has scars from broken legs and goodness knows what and still is a sweety."

Please note: Donations are welcome and very much needed.

SNARR is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Due to their rescue being focused on animals with special needs, their veterinary costs are substantially higher than the average rescue group. Without the available funds, they are unable to continue our mission of “Giving Hope To The Hopeless.”
