The CAC of Putnam County and the Friends of Putnam CAC, Inc. are pleased to present Motivational Speaker Derek Clark also known as the “Rapping Dad." As a young child, Derek endured brutal abuse and was placed in the foster care system where he would spend the next 13 years. His inspirational story is a journey from grief and abandonment to hope, healing, and the power of perseverance. Derek’s video “Rapping Dad” is an internet sensation with more than 200 million views. This year’s Champion for Children honoree is Michael J. Piazza, Jr., Commissioner of Mental Health, Social Services and the Youth Bureau.
