Support Relay For Life Movement in Memory of Their Mother, Adeline
This year, more than 1.6 million people will be diagnosed with cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. This statistic is all too real for too many people. Many of those are right here in the Brewster community, among them, the Aversano family who lost their mother, Adeline, on May 11, 2018, after a long and powerful fight to cancer. “Adeline had a love of life, family and friends. She had an infectious smile that touched the lives of so many people,” said Paul Aversano.
“We are all touched by cancer and hope one day we can live in a world where the disease does not exist. It is because of the research funded by events like Relay For Life that Adeline was able to smile her contagious smile and love life for as long as she did and we as her caregivers and supporters could find assistance as well.” Adeline and her family were and are generous supporters of Brewster’s Relay For Life event. In the event’s inaugural year, they both sponsored the event and supported the Survivor’s Dinner Reception. This year, they are increasing their involvement even more generously by catering the entire dinner reception, sponsoring the event, and forming a fundraising team. The whole Volunteer Event Leadership Team offers their grateful appreciation for the Aversanos’ wholehearted involvement.
All community members can get involved in the event by forming a team, just like the Aversanos and so many others in Brewster or by donating to the Relay for Life of Brewster. Visit relayforlife.org/BrewsterNY to learn more about the event.
