Executive Director of ARC of Putnam, Susan Limongello Retires

The following letter announced the retirement of the Executive Director of ARC of Putnam, Susan Limongello:

Dear Putnam Community,

The time has come, after 18 years, to announce my retirement. On July 27, 2018, I will be retiring from my position as Executive Director of the Arc of Putnam, formerly known as PARC. Over the past 6 years, the Arc of Putnam has been in a successful collaboration with the Arc’s of Dutchess and Ulster-Greene. It is now time for a greater collaboration which will transition me as the Executive Director of the Arc of Putnam to retirement. I have been planning my retirement for several years by creating relationships, combining programs and working closely with neighboring Arc’s. To that end, John McHugh, the Executive Director of the Arc of Ulster- Greene, will be moving into a shared position to lead both Putnam and Ulster-Greene Arc’s as of August 1, 2018.

As I have had the privilege of being the Executive Director of the Arc of Putnam for the last 18 years, I have developed relationships with the staff, participants and the community. My decision to retire has been one of difficulty and trepidation. My dedication to The Arc of Putnam, the staff, the people we support, and the Putnam community has been unwavering and will continue to be so in the future. My heart will always be with the Arc of Putnam and I look back on my many years with pride and happiness. Thank you to the community for your support over the past 18 years and I anticipate a smooth transition of authority for the Arc of Putnam, its people and its programs, while maintaining the incredible supports and services we have provided for the last 64 years. With sincere gratitude, I thank you.
