Brewster Brownies Fundraiser to Bring Blue Smiles at Salinger’s Orchard

On Saturday, March 9th, Brewster Brownie Troop #2425 will be at Salinger’s Orchard to help raise funds for The Blue Lollipop Project and would like to invite the general public to come by to enjoy a sweet treat for charity.

For every dollar donated to The Blue Lollipop Project, a child in a hospital receives a blue lollipop PLUS a blue lollipop will also go to a child in hospital. In addition, all the proceeds will go toward funding innovative research for child-specific cancers through The Ty Louis Campbell (TLC) Foundation. The delicious lollipops are gluten free, Kosher, and made in a peanut free facility.

The Brownies are all very excited to be helping The Blue Lollipop Project, which was started by local Putnam resident Riley Damiano when she was only 12 years old.

“We’re so proud of Troop #2425. In the fall they held a bake sale and donated the proceeds to Friends of Karen. They’re currently putting together ‘welcome bags’ for pets and their new owners for a shelter in Westchester. Since last year they wanted to do something to help children with cancer and the girls really look up to Riley so The Blue Lollipop Project is a perfect fit,” said Troop Leader, Lori Corradino.

The Girl Scouts would like to thank Salinger’s Orchard for hosting the fundraiser.

There will also be a free raffle to win a prize pack graciously donated by Brewster Ice Arena which includes a family pass for public skating.
