Local 911 Remembrance Ceremonies in Putnam

Local Municipalities and civic organizations in our area that are holding ceremonies to commemorate those lost on 9/11. 

Carmel: Putnam County will host a ceremony at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Carmel Cornerstone Park, located on the corner of Gleneida Avenue and Fair Street. The names of eight Putnam residents who gave their lives on Sept. 11, 2001 along with those who have since passed from 9/11 related illnesses. 

Putnam County's annual September 11th Candlelight Vigil will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 11th at the Putnam Heroes Memorial located at Corner Stone Park, 1 Fair Street, Carmel. For those wishing to attend, preceding the vigil there will be a Mass of Remembrance at Saint James the Apostle Church, 14 Gleneida Ave, Carmel. 7 p.m.

Brewster Elks Lodge #2101 will hold a candle lighting and prayer ceremony at 6pm on the grounds of their facility on Route 22 in Brewster at 6:30 pm and is open to the public.

Brewster.  September 11, 2019 - 8:44 AM, at 21 Stone Ridge Road, Jack Gress, a local property owner, will be raising the Flag and lowering it to half-staff as a mark of respect to those who died on September 11, 2001.  at his residential community located at 21 Stone Ridge Road in Brewster, NY

He writes on his Facebook Event......At 8:46, the time the first plane flew into the World Trade Center, I will be standing in silence to honor the innocent individuals from around the world who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks against the United States 18 yrs ago.
......You are welcome to stand united with me, on this occasion, in protest of terrorism and to show support for our great country.
