Spotlight Arts Inc., a nationally recognized youth theater company based in Brewster, presents THE ADDAMS FAMILY this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 6:00pm, and Sunday at 5:00pm in outdoor, socially distanced performances at Wells Park in Brewster for its fall 2020 mainstage production.
The two casts feature local young performers throughout Putnam, Dutchess, Westchester, and Fairfield counties, ranging in age from 10 to 18. Cast A performs this Thursday and Saturday evening, and Cast B performs on Friday and Sunday evening. All cast members are socially distanced during the performances through strategic staging and performance patrons are socially distanced throughout the open field of the park in assigned lots.
Limited tickets are still available for each evening performance and patrons should bring their own chairs and blankets, and can even arrive early and picnic at the park! Patrons who come to the performances in costume can receive a door prize for an intermission treat. Tickets should be reserved online in advance through Spotlight Arts' website.
About THE ADDAMS FAMILY: a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, THE ADDAMS FAMILY features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams (Olivia See of Cast A/Maureen Henshaw of Cast B), the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with Lucas (James Hartigan of Brewster, NY) –a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams (Sam Corry of Holmes, NY) must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia (Brooke Ryan of Cast A/Gillian Anderson of Cast B). Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
Returning to the Spotlight Arts creative team, this mainstage production is directed and produced by Spotlight Arts Executive Director Stephanie Scuderi, choreography by Eric Leiggi, music direction by Denis Michael Rudisch, and technical direction by Michael Campbell of Campbell Technical Designs. The production is assisted by Sarah O’Hara, and stage managed by Joy Johnson and Victor Farias.
After a very successful run of FOOTLOOSE in the park in July, Spotlight Arts is thrilled to welcome audiences back to their socially distanced outdoor theatre experience. Voted “Most Loved Acting Program” in Northern Westchester for two years in a row, Spotlight Arts' mission is to empower young individuals with high quality theatre arts education while instilling a development of self-esteem, confidence, social and life skills in a fun, positive, and professional learning environment.
