The Doansburg Chamber Ensemble will open its 2021 season with a free virtual performance by its duo of flute and harp. Flutist Christine Smith and harpist Joy Plaisted will perform works by Bach, Rutter, Mozart, Mancini, and others in a concert that can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages.
The Doansburg Chamber Ensemble consists of accomplished musicians who, along with several guest artists, annually present a concert series of outstanding musicianship in a charming, rural church setting. The artists have been heard at major performance venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, and Lincoln Center. Their artistic musicianship will please audiences of all ages. Miss Smith is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, Pre-College Division, and she holds a Master’s Degree in Education. Ms. Plaisted received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Minnesota, she attended the Geneva Conservatory for postgraduate studies, and she received a Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School. She received her degree as a Hospital Certified Harp Therapist after studying at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
