A piece of NASCAR visits Patterson Auto Body

The customer appreciation festivities got started a little early today at Patterson Auto Body on Route 22 as the NASCAR Shell #22 race car driven by Joey Logano paid a visit to the station today from noon until 6 p.m.

Patterson Auto Body is celebrating its gas station re-opening and re-branding as Shell station tomorrow but today the car was the center of attention as was the two driving simulators that accompanied the car. The simulators were set up so two people could race separately or each other on a simulated NASCAR track.

The staff of the station stood by and watched as the crew unloaded the yellow and red #22 car from its trailer and pushed it into position under the red canopy at the station. Station owner Jim Byron watched proudly as visitors and staff took pictures, ogled and talked about the car. He explained that tomorrow will be an even bigger event at the station but unfortunately the car is only there for the day today. He stated that the visit was the brainchild on one of his newest and younger employees, store manager Christina Mahoney, who had the idea a few months ago and has been working tirelessly since then to make the visit happen. He said " I remember when I had that much energy almost 30 years ago when I purchased the station and am very pleased with Christina's enthusiasm and work ethic" and he is looking forward to hearing her ideas for the station."
