Get the Funk Out with an Eclectic Mix of Music at the 2nd Annual Brewster Music Festival

Rock into summer with a FREE family-friendly afternoon of music, food, fun and friends. 

Are you ready to rock into the summer of 2018? The 2nd Annual Brewster Music Festival is an afternoon filled with hot music including rock, soul, funk and blues from some of the finest local musicians. Put that together with local food vendors, beer, wine, games and family fun and you have the perfect way to kick off the summer!

The 2nd Annual Brewster Music Festival is set to rock out on June 9, 2018 from 12-6PM at Wells Park at 98 Oak Street in Brewster. The rain date is June 10, 2018. Admission is FREE. Bring chairs and blankets to claim your space on the beautiful “great lawn” in the park.

The Cultural Arts Coalition, who is currently working towards restoring the Old Town Hall Theater on Main Street, is coordinating this annual fundraising event with the backline provided by Patterson Rotary. The media sponsor for the Cultural Arts Coalition and the Brewster Music Festival is Brewster HamletHub.

“Last year’s music had patrons dancing on the lawn and singing along to some fantastic bands” explains Judy Marano, Cultural Arts Coalition President, “We are partnering with local businesses and organizations to provide more activities while offering a free concert that is open to anyone.” Brewster High School student Annie Sullivan will be singing the National Anthem, and Putnam County Executive, MaryEllen Odell will be kicking off the event at 12 noon sharp.

Bands include Special Sauce, The Libertine Project, Soul Proprietors and The Fresh Paint with sound provided by K Bays Sound Concepts. Between sets, solo artists Frank Funigiello, Jr. and Jeffrey Marano will provide acoustic Americana music. The World Heritage Cultural Center will perform Bollywood and belly dancing. Hosts for the event with be co-producers Paul Toscano, host of PorkChop’s Blues Time on Pawling Public Radio 103.7FM and Judy Marano.

Beer provided by Brewster’s Beer Time and wine by Brotherhood Winery will be available for purchase. Wells Park rules state that no outside alcohol, glass or dogs (with the exception of service animals) are allowed in the park. Crafters, artists, artisans, local businesses and organizations will enrich your experience by offering items for purchase and information on local services. In addition, attendees are encouraged to participate in the Cultural Arts Coalition raffle, which will benefit the restoration of the Old Town Hall Theater.

The Kids Around the Corner children’s area will be available with activities and crafts provided by local children’s organizations. Apple Moms in the Hudson Valley, Brewster PTA and Seven Star School will provide free activities for kids. Funzone Inflatables will provide all day bounce house admission bracelet for only $10.

Wells Park is a short 10-minute walk from the Brewster Train Station. Walk through the center of downtown Brewster and pass the Old Town Hall Theater on your way. Show your Metro-North Train ticket for a free raffle ticket. Feel like staying the night in beautiful Brewster? Heidi’s Inn will be providing Free Shuttle Services for their guests.
