Summer Happenings at the Patterson Library

Don’t sit home this summer! The Patterson Library has many wonderful programs and special events to keep you busy all summer long.

The Bottoms Up Dixieland Jazz Band will have you tapping your toes at a fun-filled concert on Thursday, July 19 at 6 PM, so bring your family, friends, a picnic, chair or blanket and get ready for a great night of music.

On Wednesday, August 22, from 10 to 5 pm, the library will host a Plein Air event where area artists are invited to bring their paints & easels and create original works of art in our beautiful park, while the public is invited to come watch the artists at work. Artists 16 and older may register to participate on our website.

On Thursday, August 23 at 6 PM, it’s a night of Party Dancing as instructors teach you all the great party dance moves, so you can be on the dance floor at your next fun event. Adults and teens 16 and over, may register for this program. Come meet your neighbors and friends at

Thursdays in the Park starting July 5th and running through August 23, from 12:30 – 2:30 PM. Bring a picnic lunch, play our fun lawn games or just drop by to meet new people and enjoy the sunshine and the outdoors.

Children must be accompanied by an adult and all park rules must be followed. The Summer Concert and Plein Air event are funded in part by Putnam Arts Council’s Arts Link Grant.
